Understanding Our Carbon Footprint

Bell Building Projects has completed a carbon assessment with Tunley Environmental, establishing a 2025 baseline for the company’s greenhouse gas emissions and identifying opportunities to reduce its environmental impact.

The assessment recorded a total carbon footprint of 591.9 tonnes of CO₂e. Waste generated through operations was the largest contributor, accounting for 46.2% of total emissions, followed by employee commuting and business travel.

The findings will inform BBP’s Carbon Management Plan, which sets out a proposed pathway to reduce emissions by 38.7% by 2036, alongside a longer-term ambition to achieve net zero carbon by 2050 at the latest.

Initial priorities include reviewing waste management practices, assessing options for renewable electricity and identifying opportunities to reduce emissions associated with commuting and business travel.

The assessment provides a baseline against which BBP can monitor its emissions and measure progress as it works towards its carbon reduction objectives.
