Works are continuing at The Zone, a major fire remediation project made up of five occupied residential apartment blocks ranging from four to six storeys.
The project is currently at week 76 of a 152-week programme, with the first three blocks now well progressed and new external finishes being applied.
Our works include the removal of existing combustible materials and replacement with non-combustible products, including render, timber-effect cladding, copper cladding, spandrel panels and new aluminium decking to walkways and balconies. The project has also involved exposing internal cavities and introducing fire barriers to improve compartmentation to each flat.
A key part of this project has involved meticulous execution in a live, occupied building. With residents remaining in situ throughout, we’ve maintained rigorous sequencing, access management and proactive resident communication – supported by a dedicated full-time Resident Liaison Officer.
The quality of our delivery has been independently recognised by the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which has audited the project at Outstanding level – validating our commitment to professional standards, safety and communication consideration.
As the project progresses, our focus remains on phased completion and returning the buildings to residents with enhanced fire safety at the core.
