The Role
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost assessments for commercial and industrial construction projects, including cladding remediation and building retrofits. You will take ownership of tender preparation, supply chain engagement, and cost planning while working closely with project managers, design teams, and senior leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Estimator to contribute directly to the success of a growing business.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of construction projects.

Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to produce precise take-offs and pricing.

Manage supplier and subcontractor enquiries, quotations, and negotiations.

Assess and compare tender documentation, identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.

Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and design professionals to ensure alignment on project scope and delivery.

Maintain and develop cost databases, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of industry costs, materials, and pricing trends.

Represent BBP at site visits, pre-tender meetings, and client presentations.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.

Support the development of junior estimators and the wider estimating function.

Proactively identify upcoming tender opportunities and support business growth strategies.
Who We’re Looking For

Proven experience in an Estimator role within construction, ideally covering commercial or industrial projects.

HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methodologies.

Excellent numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Competence in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with estimating software is advantageous.

Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Commercial awareness with strong negotiation and communication skills.

Proactive and collaborative team player with attention to detail.
